I'm New to this discussion board, and would like to find out if anyone has an MF 1455V Tractor, and if so what you think of the Tractor!

Any Comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I do not own a 1455, but I did look at them and I thaught they were great tractors. I read an article last summer about one that a landscaper had. He used to have a ford but traded it in for a massey because he could go up in HP but still have a compact tractor. Hope this helps... ....

Dave -

Thanks for the update! I found a couple of other very favorable postings on another website. I've really poured over the Specs for the tractor. Because of That plus what I've heard about this tractor and Massey Ferguson in general, I ordered one from my local Dealer (who also has never seen one). It should be here next week. I'll post some feedback here after I've had a chance to use it a bit.

Thanks again,
Jerry

I just put 6500. down for a 1428v and decided I wanted more power for a possible future front end loader so I called the dealer that sells Massey and Cub Cadets and told him I wanted to know the difference in price between the 1428v and the 1433 and it was only 2 grand, So I told him to change my order to the larger 30HP also because of the Selective Control Valve (SCV) comes standerd on the 1433, So it is worth every penny of the 13,500.00 price tag considering I'm 42 and it will probably out live me like most Massey Fergusons and Molline's do! I don't beleive in the Deer, they are over rated but affordable, but personally Massey is a Brute compared to a Deere, but thats my opinion over the years being raised on 55 acres of corn and plowing the fields and planting strawberry's every year in Battle Creek MI.
You Buy a Massey you will never regret it!
It's ashame they don't have there own solo dealership instead of using other lawn tractor dealers to carry there line, they have a lot of people invested in there stock, I think it would be wise to open independant stores to show people the difference in machanic's compared to the Deere To me the Cast Iron and Bysmuth Ore Crank Shaft will never wear only the piston sleeves, a Deere will need a Crank Shaft replacment when its time to rebuild the motor, So thats why I say Massey is a Brute, made solid as a rock and you just can't beat them for the price. But when everyone hears John Deere they automatically set there minds with its a well heard of name and must be a kick but tractor when infact they make cheaper parts than Massey does but Massey's hardly ever need replaced, but the cost for the parts are much more than the Deere, But you are investing more into the Name and that color GREEN! The old saine holds true to John Deere Tractors, They don't make them like they use to! but where can I get that reliable Massey that they use to make! well they still make them with state of the art metals and equipment that seldom needs maintanence other than frequent Oil changes etc.

I will let you know how the front end loader works on mulching our 500' driveway and moving gravel. ....

I just got my 1433 Hydro a couple of weeks ago. Ordered it with the larger R4's. Word of warning: those tires will NOT allow you to use a MMW on the tractor, despite what the rep says. The front wheel hits the front caster of the deck. Also, the PTO shaft is at a steep angle to the deck since the tractor sits up so high (it wouldn't last a week). All else on the tractor is great. Will end up keeping the large tires and using a finishing mower off the 3 pt. ....

Jerry,

A good friend of mine has a 1455 and loves it, he does commercial work such as dirt, landscape, etc. he has never had any problems with his tractor. he buys a new tractor every three years. he is hard on his equipment and puts them to the test, he will not buy anything else but massey ferguson. i spent 2 weeks operating his 1455 and i am purchasing mine soon. i currently have an international 706 and a smaller john deer. i am very impressed with the 1455 ....

Thanks for the update. I've had my tractor since spring, and now have about 50 hours on it. It's been a real workhorse. It's easy to operate, very comfortable, and I have not had a single problem with it. We live in an extremely hilly area, and even with a 6 foot brush hog on the hills, the tractor never lacks for power.

If I had one thing to change, I would have gotten the Agricultural tread instead of the R4 Industrial. I think for my use on the hills, and sometimes mud, the Ag tires would have been a better choice.

Anyway, if you get one, I don't think you'll have any regrets.

Jerry
